I just answered my own question. Not sure about the infill project - it might be the a reasonable option. If this piece is true, I'm left, once again, with a new understanding of just what a grandstanding jackass Mayor Chavez is. He has a private collection of vintage neon? Wonder how many of them are from buildings the city razed? Tacky...
Thanks Phil, And the Mayor's desire for the sign kind of puts him in a conflict of interest situation.
