For about the last half of the 60 year life span of the Zia Lodge, the carports were cemented and enclosed to make more rooms. Here we see 3 distinct layers of vinyl tile around the opening for the commode. But these "upgrades" could not postpone the inevitable. The motel was demolished a few months ago.
